‘Brushstrokes for Dylan’, an Art Exhibition in Memory of a Beloved Son

14 November 2025

Clare-based artist Edelle Costelloe will host an art exhibition in memory of her late son Dylan while also raising awareness of charities and causes close to his heart. “Brushstrokes for Dylan” will take place at the De Valera Library, Ennis from Friday, November 28 to Friday, December 19, 2025.

‘Brushstrokes for Dylan’, an Art Exhibition in Memory of a Beloved Son

This very personal exhibition brings together a series of expressive abstract paintings, portraits, line drawings and minimalist landscapes, exploring themes of emotion, connection, and compassion.

All proceeds from sales of artwork at the exhibition will be donated to The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust and local homeless services in Dylan’s name.

Reflecting on the exhibition and her decision to support these charities, Ms Costelloe said the exhibition reflects Dylan’s compassionate spirit and pays homage to his unfulfilled ambition to help the homeless.

“Dylan had plans to do charity work helping the homeless in Sydney but sadly didn’t get the chance to fulfil this dream due to his untimely death. To honour his wish and build on his legacy, I chose to support homeless services as part of this exhibition.”

The second charity - The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust - is also very close to my heart as it provides vital assistance to families who lost a loved one abroad.  When my son Dylan passed away following an accident in Bali, the Trust helped bring him home with such kindness and care.  Supporting the charity through this exhibition is my way of giving back and helping other families facing the same situation,” she added.

Edelle, who works in Clare County Council, is a self-taught contemporary artist, professional life coach, and wellbeing advocate. Her work explores emotion, memory, and human connection, offering viewers a space for reflection and empathy.
